The 39 Clues Book 6 - In Too Deep

The search for the 39 clues continues and Amy and Dan are off to Australia to find out about what their own mother and father knew about the 39 clues. They met up with their Dad's friend Shepard and they are going to stay with him until they leave Australia. They snuck away from Shepard and their au pair Nellie again but this time they are on a boat. They sailed out to sea and caught sight of an active volcano. After being dropped off at a island they look around. The island is deserted apart from one house and that house belongs to their uncle Alistair who is in the Ekaterina branch of the Cahill family. Amy and Dan decide to stay with Alistair for the night knowing they will be safe, dry and warm. Later on through the night Isabel Kabra set the house on fire and Amy was woken up by the smell of smoke. She ran and woke up Dan and Alistair and they all ran onto the roof. Just as the fire started spreading and coming closer Irina Spasky (who is a Lucian) came to the rescue. She grabbed a bamboo stick and pole volted up to the roof with them. Irina gave Amy her missing jade necklace that had belonged to Grace Cahill (Amy and Dan's grandmother). They used the pole to help them climb to safety but before Irina could climb down the house crumbled to pieces leaving Irina Spasky dead. Amy felt terrible after seeing someone die but when Amy saw Nellie waving frantically from a launch ready to pick them up she felt much better. After saying goodbye to Alistair they sailed off. Amy and Dan didn't find a clue in this book. I hope they find a clue in book 7.

A clue that Amy and Dan found in Book 3 makes them try and discover why there is such a strong rivalry between the Tomas and Ekaterina branches of the Cahill family. They end up in Egypt with their au pair Nellie and find themselves in danger once again as they search for clues in very famous historical tombs. They have trouble knowing who of their relatives they can trust and who they can't especially a friend of their grandmother's who seems to want to help them. Amy and Dan still fight all the time but they seem to work better as a team in this book. A message from their dead grandmother leads them to discover the clue which is a half gram of myrrh.

The 39 Clues Book 3 The Sword Thief

The clue hunt continues and Amy and Dan Cahill are off to Tokyo, Japan. The key to finding the next clue is helped with Dan's samurai sword. One of Amy and Dan's relatives, Ian Kabra, tries to form an alliance with them and gives Amy a coin with a symbol on it. The symbol on the coin ends up helping Amy and Dan in the clue hunt. Amy and Dan discover a hedge maze and solve the mystery of how to open up a secret hatch. In the hatch they read from a book which tells them the history of Gideon Cahill and his wife Olivia. Gideon made a discovery to change the course of humankind and had been studying alchemy which is attempting to turn base metals into gold. Amy realised that Gideon had cracked the secret of the philosopher's stone and that when Amy and Dan solve the 39 clues they will possess the secret to alchemy. In the Pukhansan National Park they find a big rock which they believe hides Hideyoshi's treasure. Amy slots her coin in the rock and a dark cavern opens up which holds gold coins, buddhas, plates, chopsticks, cups, bowls, platters all in solid gold. They had found their third clue which is gold.

The 39 Clues Book 2 One False Note

The journey continues on the search for the 39 clues and Amy and Dan Cahill are completely surprised to find themselves in the lead. They now rush off to Vienna, Italy with only a piece of Mozart's sheet music to help them but they soon get trapped in the Janus headquarters. They are also being chased by deadly relatives who are trying to stop Amy and Dan winning the clue hunt. After realising that the musical notes on the sheet music were also letters they worked out the clue which was TU. Dan had an epiphany and said "it's the old chemical symbol for tungsten!". Amy and Dan remembered the first clue was iron solute and the second clue is tungsten. This is when they realised that this contest is about putting together some kind of formula.
